Opinel No. 10 3-Piece Corkscrew/Bottle Opener Set with Belt Pouch
An Opinel knife with a 10cm martensitic stainless steel blade of European origin, 57-58 HRC hardness, versatile and always useful for outings and picnics. Comes with its belt pouch, all in a wooden box.
Easy to maintain and razor-sharp.
The traditional Opinel blade is called a Yatagan blade (after Turkish swords) with its raised point, which guarantees great robustness. It opens with your thumbnail. The blade offers an excellent cutting edge for slicing sausage and cheese. Its high wear resistance allows it to withstand regular contact with hard materials, such as ceramics, before needing resharpening.
Beech handle: This is the wood most commonly used to make Opinel knives and comes from the Vercors and Jura regions. The light colour can vary from yellow to pink with small dark stripes. The handle is varnished to protect it from dirt and damp.
The handle is fitted with a professional 5-turn stainless steel wick and a steel rod for uncapping bottles and hanging the knife.
Stainless steel Virobloc safety ring locks the blade in the open or closed position.
Supplied in an individual box (berlingot).
Blade: 10cm
Handle: 13cm
*The Virobloc safety ring, invented in 1955 by Marcel Opinel, is fitted to all closing knives from N°06 onwards.
The Virobloc is cut out of stainless steel and is made up of two parts: a fixed part and a sliding part.
In addition to locking the blade in the open position (safety in use), it is also possible to lock the blade in the closed position for transport safety.
