Opinel knife N° 8 in olive wood with 10cm handle
An Opinel knife with a stainless steel blade from Europe, hardness 57-58 HRC, 8cm long, for all your everyday tasks,
easy to clean and razor-sharp.
The traditional Opinel blade is called the Yatagan blade (after the Turkish swords) with its raised tip guaranteeing great strength.
Opening with thumbnail. The blade has an excellent cutting edge and high resistance to wear, enabling it to withstand regular contact with hard materials, such as ceramics, before requiring re-sharpening. A knife with a tapered style and a mirror blade in martensitic stainless steel, hardness 55-57HRC
Olive wood handle: The olive tree is the mythical tree of the Mediterranean. Olive wood is pleasant to the touch and has a beautiful polish. The handle is varnished to prevent soiling and protect against moisture.
Stainless steel Virobloc safety ring locks the blade in the open or closed position.
Supplied in an individual box (berlingot).

*The Virobloc safety ring, invented in 1955 by Marcel Opinel, is fitted to all closing knives from N°06 onwards.
The Virobloc is cut out of stainless steel and is made up of two parts: a fixed part and a sliding part.
In addition to locking the blade in the open position (safety in use), it is also possible to lock the blade in the closed position for transport safety.
