Opinel No. 8 "Animalia 3" Knife with Beech Handle
An Opinel knife with a European-made martensitic stainless steel blade, 57-58 HRC hardness, measuring 8.5 cm, perfect for all your everyday tasks.
Easy to maintain and razor-sharp.
The traditional Opinel blade is called a Yatagan blade (after Turkish sabers) with its upturned point, which guarantees great strength.
Beech handle. Beech is the most commonly used wood for Opinel handles. It is hard, durable, and easy to work with. The handle is varnished to prevent dirt and provide better protection against moisture.
Stainless steel has the advantage of requiring no special maintenance under normal use and offers high resistance to abrasion (wear).
Laser engraving, climbing and mountain motifs.
Virobloc stainless steel safety ring with blade locking in open or closed position.
In a candy-shaped container
Blade: 8.5cm
Handle: 11cm
*The Virobloc safety ring, invented in 1955 by Marcel Opinel, is fitted to all closing knives from N°06 onwards.
The Virobloc is cut out of stainless steel and is made up of two parts: a fixed part and a sliding part.
In addition to locking the blade in the open position (safety in use), it is also possible to lock the blade in the closed position for transport safety.
