Le Fidèle "L'Alsacien" Folding Knife – Ebony
The history of the "L'Alsacien" knife dates back to the early 20th century, around 1910–1920. Designed for the urban class, laborers, and the farming community, it was quickly adopted by winemakers and charcutiers in Eastern France. Cutlers from Thiers soon nicknamed it "Le Massu" (The Club). This name derives from the shape of its serpentine handle, which ends in a wider, rounded bolster reminiscent of a club.
It is a classic French regional knife, crafted with the expertise Le Fidèle has cultivated for years.
Features a drop-point blade made of 12C27 stainless steel with a nail nick for opening. The spine curves gently down toward the tip, while the cutting edge is slightly rounded along the first third to facilitate slicing. The blade is broad and sturdy, ideal for everyday tasks.
Slip-joint mechanism.
Handle made of Cocobolo wood (a prized Central American timber). Renowned for its exceptional density and spectacular hues ranging from orange-yellow to reddish-brown with black veining it is highly sought after for instrument making and cutlery.
Stainless steel bolster; handle scales attached to metal liners.
Do not place in the dishwasher.
