Laguiole knife from Fontenille Pataud Gilles® series ‘GENTLEMAN’ range
Fontenille Pataud is one of the cutlers from the Thiers area who have come together to perpetuate this mastery and know-how through a knife bearing the name of their town:
Thiers, the capital of French cutlery for over 6 centuries, and who have built the reputation of French knives by respecting the 3 key ideas: Territoriality, Quality, Morality.
If you think the ‘SPORT’ range of knives is too big, the Laguiole Gentleman is just as robust but more discreet.
While retaining the traditional forged bee shape of the Laguiole knife, a precision mechanism allows the blade to be locked securely when opened.
A matt polished blade with notch (at the end of the handle) in 14C28N steel (hardness 58-59HRC). Laguiole Fontenille Pataud engraved on the blade.
Matt bolster.
10.5 cm stabilised beech handle with inlay of the traditional Laguiole shepherd's cross. The stabilised wood is saturated with synthetic resin using a special technical process. Stabilised standing beech therefore has the technical qualities of a resin but retains all its aesthetic qualities. Traditionally forged bee (not welded), each spring is guilloched freehand.
A precision mechanism ensures that the blade locks securely when open.
A solid stop in 100C6 steel allows the blade to be slammed down without damaging the cutting edge.
Blade lock-back mechanism
Supplied with a genuine leather pouch.
