Windmühlenmesser stainless steel utility knife, cherry wood handle, 18cm blade
A large utility and meat knife in a stainless steel version. It easily cuts through firm-skinned fruits and vegetables, cured sausages, and more.
The blade is forged from chromium-molybdenum-vanadium stainless steel (1.4116 steel) with a hardness of 56-57 HRC. This stainless alloy withstands contact with meat juices, blood, or cooking sauces; the knife will not oxidize.
Although this type of stainless steel is often difficult to polish to a fine finish, it has undergone the "blue polishing" process.
The blade features a mirror-like finish and glides effortlessly through food.
Blue polishing: The bluish finish traditionally known as *Blaupließten* in German (translated as "blue polishing" or "blue grind") represents the pinnacle of Solingen craftsmanship. It is an extremely complex and rare blade-finishing technique; the Robert Herder manufactory is one of the last in the world to master and teach it.
Cherry wood handle: a local wood with reddish-brown hues, a silky feel, and excellent durability for daily use.
Do not place in the dishwasher.
