Why change something that works?
Because at Spyderco we practice CQI - Constant Quality Improvement.
When it's possible to refine and improve the ergonomics or cutting performance of an established model, it's done.
Sal Glesser's Spyderco Para Military 2, for example, has undergone a number of changes compared to the classic version.
The brown micarta handle (which is very pleasant to the touch and will form a patina over time) has been narrowed at the tip to improve ergonomics.
The handle and blade have a slimmer profile, eliminating uncomfortable angles when the knife is in the closed position.
It features a Compression lock® for smooth opening.
The drop point blade is entirely flat and made from high quality CPM Cru-Wear steel, 63HRC hardness (corrosion and wear resistant), with a preserved inner notch. The blade is satin-finish and smooth, opens through a hole in the blade and closes with one hand thanks to Spyderco's trademark high-strength lock.
Spyderco engraved on the blade.
Four-way clip for ambidextrous use, left/right.
Hole at the back for a lanyard.
A perfect EDC knife for all your outdoor work.
