Windmühlenmesser Ibex 120 Carbon & Beechwood Knife
The Windmühlenmesser IBEX 120 is the extra-large (XL) model in the outdoor range from the German manufacturer Robert Herder. Its blade profile is inspired by a historical design originally created for the Hadhramaut region of southern Arabia. The locking mechanism a traditional design that has been significantly improved holds the blade firmly in place whether open or closed.
Features a high-quality, plain-edge blade made of 102Cr6 carbon steel (58-59 HRC hardness), offering a razor-sharp edge and excellent edge retention. It has a "sheep's foot" blade profile. Equipped with a lock-back mechanism to secure the blade in the open position; the blade can also be opened using the thumb stud.
Carbon steel blades require maintenance to prevent oxidation and the development of a grey patina; the blade should be wiped clean after every use.
Natural beechwood handle: light-colored and dense a wood traditionally used in Germany for work tools. Offers an excellent grip but has a rustic look.
To close the knife, pull the small metal ring on the back; this releases the lock in stages, allowing the blade to close gently without snapping shut on your fingers.
