Windmühlenmesser Petty Knife – Cherry wood handle, stainless steel blade
In Japan, the Petty is considered a paring knife, despite having a larger blade suitable for cutting larger items like big fruits or medium-sized vegetables.
It is highly maneuverable and lightweight for these tasks.
The blade is forged from chromium-molybdenum-vanadium stainless steel (1.4116 steel) with a hardness of 56–57 HRC. This stainless alloy withstands contact with meat juices, blood, and cooking sauces; the knife will not oxidize. It features a slightly convex grind.
Blue Polishing: The bluish finish traditionally known as *Blaupließten* in German (translated as "blue polishing" or "blue grind") represents the pinnacle of Solingen craftsmanship. It is an extremely complex and rare blade-finishing technique; the Robert Herder manufactory is one of the last in the world to master and teach it.
Cherry wood handle: a local wood with reddish-brown hues, a silky feel, and durability for everyday use.
Knife features three aluminum rivets.
Do not place in the dishwasher.
