Spyderco Karambit folding knife by Sal Glesser
The original Spyderco Karahawk was a unique synthesis of the defining characteristics of the classic Southeast Asian karambit and cutting-edge modern folding knife design. This dynamic design is now available in a discreet all-black version, ideal for use in environments where light discipline is a concern.
Black VG-10 steel Hawkbill blade with ‘WAVE’ notch and hook for rapid opening.
Ernest Emerson's patented ‘Emerson Opener’, which automatically opens the blade when it is removed from the pocket. Thumb hole in the blade.
Sabre-sharp blade, combined with a compact handle constructed with two skeletonised stainless steel liners that extend to form the structure of a reinforced karambit ring at the end of the handle.
The handle has a sturdy back lock and is covered with 12 cm black G10 plates (including the ring), which are extremely strong and grippy.
The karambit is a very special knife: you have to put your index finger through the ring and close your fingers around the handle with the cutting edge facing forward.
With the Emerson Wave Opening system, place the knife against your pocket when you take it out. The wave will lock into the seam of your pocket and the blade will unfold as the knife comes out of the pocket.
Reversible pocket clip for ambidextrous use.
The knife is completely covered in a discreet, non-glare black titanium carbonitride coating.
