OTTER "Mercator" folding knife made in Solingen, Germany with Damascus blade
An EDC pocket knife that combines classic shapes with modern materials.
The brass Mercator series knife has the same features as the classic large Mercator it is lockable and the same size
It can be opened with both hands using the nailnick, making it a light, comfortable knife that's perfect for everyday use.
MERCATOR knives have been made in Solingen since 1867. They are famous for having equipped Kaiser Wilhelm II's soldiers during the First World War. They were also used in the Second World War.
Knife with smooth blade in 256-layer Damascus steel, hardness 61 HRC, with notch on the back.
The blade is Drop Point shaped.
Backlock blade lock
Brass handle with Otter embossed on handle and clasp. The knife comes with a leather strap with brass eyelet.
Otter uses Damascus blades forged from low-alloy cold-work steels (1.2842/1.5634, 75Ni8). The hardness is approximately 61 Rockwell.
Please note that the damascus used is not stainless.
