Product Details

This Silky Nata Outback serp or hatchet is very practical for outdoor work with fresh wood.

The new Nata Outback is the ultimate outdoor tool because it can be used as both a hatchet and a knife. With the introduction of the new Nata, Silky is also launching a new blade finishing technique. Silky black oxide combines the ancient Japanese method of rust prevention with modern technology.

Thanks to a special oxidation process, the blade is given a blood black appearance, giving it an important stealth effect when hunting. This superior finish is like a Japanese sword; excellent rust resistance, with no compromise on sharpness.

The 240mm black blade is uniquely forged from the finest SKS-51 (JIS) steel and is double-edged. The full tang blade is covered by Silky's rubber Genki handle for the most comfortable and confident feel. Exactly what you need for wood splitting, batoning and outdoor cooking.
Black rubber handle

The Nata Outback Edition comes with a black hard case with a removable belt loop to accompany you on all your adventures.

Specifications:

Dimensions: 460 x 125 x 45 mm
Blade length 240 mm
Weight: 960 g

Silky Japanese saw blades are made from top-quality carbon steel and are laser-cut. The blades are of unrivalled quality: very hard and strong, they remain flexible and bite easily into the wood: this suppleness and flexibility come from the fact that the core of the teeth is made of soft metal.
The chemical composition of the metal, combined with the unique heating and cooling process, determines its high hardness. The high carbon content leads to high wear resistance, so the cutting edge stays sharp for a very long time.
The blade must be kept clean for optimum efficiency. The resin dissolves with olive oil, so your blade will be well cared for. Dry your blade and store it in a dry place.
Avoid solvents for the handle
