Silky has applied a black coating of a unique blend of nickel and tin to the entire blade, including the teeth. This coating will ensure a longer life, excellent cutting performance in wood and also when sawing bone.
The dark colour is anti-reflective and therefore perfect for tactical operations. The blade locks securely in two different positions with the locking mechanism. And when the blade is folded, the cutting teeth are safely covered because they are completely hidden in the handle. When you are going to use the saw, you can simply unfold the blade using the notch provided, even if you are wearing gloves.
The brown "Arbor Composite" handle is made from a wood/composite composition, which provides a warm, comfortable feel and superior control.

Silky Japanese saw blades are made from high quality SK-4 carbon steel and are laser cut. The blades are of unsurpassed quality: very hard and strong, they remain flexible and bite easily into the wood: this softness and flexibility is due to the fact that the tooth core is made of soft metal.
The chemical composition of the metal in combination with the unique heating and cooling process determines its high hardness. The high carbon content leads to a high wear resistance, so that the cutting edge remains sharp for a long time.
The blade must be kept clean for optimum efficiency. The resin dissolves with olive oil, so your blade will be well maintained, dry your blade and store it in a dry place.
