Le Thiers®’ knife from Fontenille-Pataud Gilles® series Gentleman 12 cm ironwood handle
Fontenille-Pataud is one of a group of cutlers from the Thiers region who have come together to perpetuate their mastery and expertise through a knife bearing the name of their town:
Thiers, the capital of French cutlery for over 6 centuries, and who have built the reputation of French knives by respecting the 3 key ideas: Territoriality, Quality, Morality.
The Thiers® Gentleman is one of the rare forged fly-knives with its secure blade lock.
A perfect balance between handle and blade thanks to the groove at the back of the spring to allow the blade to fold inwards.
Easy to open thanks to a precision mechanism, the blade can be slammed shut without damaging the cutting edge, which is protected by a fixed stop to ensure a long-lasting cut.
The Thiers® Gentleman can even be closed by snapping the blade shut, as the cutting edge is protected by a solid fixed stop.
The blade is made from 14C28N steel, hardness 60 HRC, and the tip of the knife will fit into a groove milled into the spring. This top-of-the-range steel will keep your blade sharp for longer.
Rear pump blade lock: Lock-back
Handle made from very hard ironwood from the USA
Spring forged and chiselled by hand
Genuine leather sheath
A lightweight knife that's equally at home in town or country, it will appeal to collectors and lovers of fine blades alike.
