Windmühlenmesser Bread Knife – Cherry Wood Handle, Stainless Steel Blade
The manufacturer's iconic, extra-large bread knife named "Ellenlang," literally meaning "an ell (or cubit) long" pays tribute to the impressive length of its blade.
Its 26 cm length is specifically designed to slice through large country-style loaves in a single, fluid motion, without sawing or damaging the crumb.
A giant 26 cm blade forged from chromium-molybdenum-vanadium stainless steel (1.4116 steel) with a hardness of 56–57 HRC. This stainless alloy withstands contact with meat juices, blood, or cooking sauces; the knife will not oxidize. It features a slightly convex grind.
"Blue polishing": The bluish finish traditionally known as *Blaupließten* in German (translated as "blue polishing" or "blue grind") represents the pinnacle of Solingen craftsmanship. It is an extremely complex and rare blade-finishing technique that the Robert Herder manufactory is one of the last in the world to master and teach.
Cherry wood handle: a local wood with reddish-brown hues, a silky-smooth feel, and excellent durability for daily use.
Knife features three aluminum rivets.
Do not place in the dishwasher.
