Boker fixed knife Acht-Acht Flak Damast
The Flak Damascus Eight-Eight (8-8) collection dagger. The 8.8 cm Flak (short for anti-aircraft gun) is considered by many connoisseurs to be the best and unquestionably most versatile gun of the Second World War. While anti-tank guns of 3.7cm to 7.5cm maximum were notoriously under-calibre for the armour of the time, anti-aircraft guns generally had relatively large tube diameters. It soon became apparent that only the 8-8 was capable of effectively penetrating the armour of the heavy British Matilda II tank or the Soviet T-34.
Designed as a medieval-style dagger with its imposing 18cm Damascus steel blade forged from 8.8cm Flack parts and 5mm thick
Black grenadilla handle with 16 jimpings, safety opening: Fixed with double guard.
Supplied with storage box, certificate of authenticity and individual serial number.
Leather case.
