The NAKIRI: The Japanese Nakiri knife is a tall, rectangular knife, entirely Japanese in shape and design, with a blunt blade typically between 17 and 19 cm long. Furthermore, the cutting edge is very often perfectly parallel to the spine of the blade. Often called a vegetable knife for simplicity due to its height, which allows the blade to be used like a spatula to transfer chopped food from the cutting board to a container.

Knives in the Shun Kagerou range are crafted using an innovative forging technique, where two types of steel are combined to form a blade with 70 layers of steel. The combination of flexible and durable VG2 steel and extremely strong VG10 steel guarantees exceptional sharpness and long-lasting edge retention.
The Composite Blade Technology gives the blades excellent, long-lasting cutting performance and a unique design. This new blade design consists of two parts: the upper part features an exceptional mirror-polished finish and a delicate Dual Core Damascus steel pattern. The octagonal handle, crafted from marbled gray Pakka wood with double stainless steel bolsters, is moisture-resistant, giving the knife a warm and premium look.

The handle end features the Shun logo.
