THE DOURIS CHASTEL CUTLERY BUSINESS BEGAN IN 1942 NEAR THIERS.

The young couple Pierre Douris, who had just returned from the war, and Lucienne Chastel, both passionate about cutlery, bought the Charles Choty company, located in the hills of La Monnerie-le-Montel, near Thiers. The traditional folding knives of this company were modified by Pierre Douris and he made his first knife in 1947. An automatic knife with a mechanism never seen before in the cutlery world. The years went by and he became increasingly famous.

The "Pioneer", a multi-blade knife created at the end of the 1970s, was the brand's greatest success. The family story continues as his daughter takes over the company. The DOURIS CHASTEL cutlery will be sold to the GOYON-CHAZEAU cutlery at the end of 2019 due to a lack of buyers.

The Douris Chastel knives produced in the Goyon-Chazeau workshops are still 100% French and 100% handmade, the story continues.
